Application:

Ozone offers significant advantages for flue gas treatment in the non-ferrous metals industry. In zinc smelting, for instance, the side-blowing furnace is commonly used, with combustion temperatures ranging from 1100°C to 1300°C. The process is divided into stages involving reduction furnaces and smelting furnaces, which ultimately produce flue gas for acid production. In the zinc smelting industry, the flue gas can generally be classified into three types: reduction furnace flue gas, smelting furnace flue gas, and acid tail gas. Acid tail gas primarily requires nitrogen oxide treatment, while the reduction furnace and smelting furnace flue gas exhibit nitrogen oxide fluctuations due to their 2-hour working cycles. Additionally, these flue gases contain high levels of acids, making the SCR process unsuitable for nitrogen oxide removal, as it leads to catalyst poisoning, reduces polymer oxidation efficiency, and increases operating costs. Therefore, an external polymer oxidation process must be used. Given the low temperature of the flue gas (around 70°C after dust removal), the ozone polymer oxidation process, which operates at temperatures below 280°C, is widely applied in this context.
